Trip niyo ba yung bagong Superman?
Ang dami kong kaibigan na sobrang nagandahan sa Superman Returns.
Noong napanood ko, sa akin ok lang. Maganda naman, but i wasn’t blown away. Parang, wala lang… Tapos, kagabi, pinanood ko yung Superman 1 and 2 starring Christopher Reeve, grabe, siya lang talaga ang SAKTONG Superman! The chin, the smile, the jaw, the posture, even the hair!
Sa totoo lang, medyo mukhang it’s a gay thing si Brandon Routh sa mga posters. Pero actually ok naman siya sa movie eh. Lalo na pag Clark Kent siya. Kuhang-kuha niya yung role na "bumbling fool". Parang loser talaga siya. Si Christopher Reeve, medyo O.A. na aanga-anga as Clark eh. Pero pag dating sa Superman, ang layo na ni CR kay BR! Kasi naman, ang kapal ng kilay ni Brandon Routh! Medyo kamukha niya tuloy yung dating drummer ng Phantom Planet na artista din (Jason Swartzman)!!! Tsaka medyo hindi siya mukhang "larger than life"… Yung asta niya yun, eh… yung balor. Parang kulang sa angas. Sa confidence. Eh dapat pag Superman ka, talagang HERO dapat ang dating mo…
At ang pinakamatinding rason kung bakit di ko masyadong nagustuhan yung Superman Returns ay dahil dun sa CURL niya. Yes, yung nasa noo ni Superman na buhok na naka-curl. Pansinin niyo, napaka- hindi natural ng pagkakagawa. Parang idinikit lang ng PD/Styling team nila. Di masyadong halata sa pictures, pero sa movie, GRABE… ang panget talaga tignan.
(ayoko din na may powers yung anak niya, pero ok din na madaming silang homage sa 1st two movies. Ok lang yung bagong costume, hindi WOW!!! Medyo mabagal sa ibang parts yung movie, tapos wala pa siyang kinalaban physically.)

di ko pa napanood! busy sa schedule namin e… waaaaah! inggit naman ako. pero im trying to get seats for the imax theater. ge, i better get to class. babay! =)

watched it sa 1st day pa lang and made a blog entry as well about that movie. it’s not as super as i predicted it to be when i first saw the promo pictures. ang pangit talaga ng costume. it’s not a bad film but christopher reeve’s movies are far better except mas believable ang paglipad ni brandon routh, well, that’s because hightech na compared before. but i’m happy superman returns in the big screen. sana lang ibalik yung dating costume or at kahawig man lang ng dati.

but definitely, Christopher Reeve was born to be Superman… second lang siguro si Brandon Routh. haha. even if it’s a gay thing siya sa mga posters. :p

May isang scene sa Superman 2 (kung saan kalaban niya yung mga ibang taga-Krypton sa Fortress of Solitude) na may Super Jabbar si Christopher Reeve.

Sablay talaga yun Superman Returns pre. Wala naman ginawa si Superman kundi lumipad lipad at magbuhat ng kung ano ano at magpabugbog kila Lex Luthor. Not so super at all. They really didn’t do anything for the character. Di man lang binigyan ng depth. Si Martha Kent, parang isiningit lang. Si Lex, one dimensional pa rin. And that freaking super kid! Ang labo pre. An earthling cannot carry a kryptonian baby. Pano kung habang na sa sinapupunana niya eh sumipa yun? Durog ang organs nya. Sure sure, kunwari kse half human intermittent ang powers nya but still. Lame e. From the trailers I was expecting a Superman burdened with his almost godhood. I was hoping Lex would exploit his greatest weakness, his desire to hold on to his humanity, to family, to friends. But I was sorely disappointed. There are more ways to bring a Superman down to his knees aside from kryptonite.

Di ko pa siya napapanood pero i heard fr. a Dj of KLite commenting about the movie that it was done that way because there IS A SEQUEL to it, siguro dun na ilalabas lahat ng iniexpect ng mga manood(sana nga pero ba’t naman ang Spiderman di ba? hehe maybe am just expecting too much). these guys didn’t pulled out their big guns first (n0w where did i hear that?):-)
